Up, Up and Away

It knocked me right between the eyes when I attended a funeral recently: this life is no dress rehearsal! We live and irrespective of our idealised version of what life ‘should’ be…. we die in the end. And that end may come much sooner that we expect: a motorcycle accident in broad daylight, en-route home, just like any other Tuesday, and out of the blue… you’re gone.

We are but a vapor. ‘n Grassaadjie in die wind. And… Tjoeps! It’s over. No second chance.

So i guess my question is this: if you knew you’re leaving us next year this time,how will you live differently? Will you escape the haze of societal expectation? What is inside you… lying in eager anticipation of you waking up? ‘Word wakker…word wakker!’
